A typical problem is when your firewall software displays a warning about the Net2Go Service.
To resolve this problem, select the firewall option to allow (or set up an exception) for Net2Go to use port 8008 on your computer.
If your firewall continues to display a warning about Net2Go, you need to configure the firewall to allow Net2Go to run. For information about this, see Set up your firewall.

This can occur when there is a serious, system-wide security issue that affects Net2Go customers. This is done to help protect the security of your network and your personal files.
To resolve this, update Network Magic to obtain software fixes that address the security issue. For steps, see Check for updates.

This can occur as a result of the following:
Typical Internet service uses dynamic addresses. Generally, when you use a cable or DSL connection through your ISP, keep in mind that you have a dynamic IP address. Your IP address can change when you powercycle your router or modem, or when your ISP performs service on its own network.
If you use a static IP address. If you have a special Internet connection that uses a static (unchanging) IP address, be aware that in some instances ISPs might randomly change users' static IP addresses. ISPs do this to help prevent customers from running high-traffic Web sites (for example, for commercial use).
High-speed Internet access that uses existing telephone lines. DSL is an abbreviation for Digital Subscriber Line.
The company that provides you access to the Internet. ISP is an abbreviation for Internet service provider.
A temporary IP address assigned by a DHCP server. Compare this to a static IP address, which is unchanging.
A device that joins networks (for example, to connect your home network to the Internet). A router is also known as a gateway or base station.
Connects the Internet access cable (typically, the TV cable or DSL cable) to the router in your network.

The computer that hosts your Net2Go Web site.
Make sure your CAPS LOCK key is set correctly. The Net2Go password is case sensitive (for example, "PASSWORD1234!", "PaSsWoRd1234!", and "password1234!" are not the same).
Ordinarily, you specify what type of access you want to allow (for example, public folders or password-protected folders) when you create shared folders.

The shared folders on a particular computer can appear to be offline for a variety of reasons. These include the following:
The computer is either turned off or disconnected from the network.
The computer is using a Windows power-saving feature (for example, hibernation or standby). For steps in turning off these features, see When Windows power-saving features interfere.

To share photos, documents, video, and other files, you can easily set up shared folders in your home network. Set up a folder with the files you want to share, then use Network Magic to share the folder. When you use Net2Go, you can set up folders with public access, making them available to anyone who visits your Net2Go Web site. Shared folders can be on one computer or several computers in your network.
An offline computer or device can be turned off or disconnected from the network. For the Net2Go Web site, offline means it is not accessible on the Web.

This is the simple Web site that is part of Net2Go itself. When you connect to the home network, you view shared folders through the Web site, which is on the computer where Net2Go is activated.
